This year marks the 1946th anniversary of the Mt. Vesuvius eruption that destroyed Pompeii and Herculaneum. So much was preserved under that ash, including bars and taverns, where ancient Romans enjoyed local wines and snacks.

In our tasting, we’ll pouring 5 wines from appellations near the volcano. We will also have small bites, including two bites from ancient Roman recipes!

Join us for a one-night-only, ticketed, $125 pp, 4-course, family-style dinner and wine tasting in our garden! We have partnered up with Chef Nana Wilmot for this exclusive dinner and wine pairing celebrating Pan-African cuisine.

Nana Araba Wilmot is the chef and owner of Georgina’s Private Chef and Catering Co. and curator of Love That I Knead Supper Club. Nana started cooking at age 7 with her grandmother, which was the source of her love of cooking for others. After graduating with two degrees in culinary arts and culinary management at The Art Institute of Philadelphia in 2013, Nana went on to work for Wolfgang Puck Catering and Iron Chef Jose Garces’ restaurants. Nana moved to New York as the opening crew for Garces’ FiDi location in 2016. She went on to work at Le CouCou, a Steven Starr restaurant collaboration with Chef Daniel Rose in Soho that garnered a James Beard Award for Best New Restaurant in 2017 and 1 Michelin star in 2018 and then worked with Chef Marie Rose at Le Mercerie while picking up bartending at YN Bar in the Nolita neighborhood. In February 2020, Chef Nana accepted a job in Paris to work at La Bourse et La Vie by Daniel Rose but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, moved back to the States to Philadelphia. This is where she started Love That I Knead Supperclub, a West African-focused dinner series that celebrates Black history and foodways across the diaspora. Reimagining that lens, Nana explores her identity on a plate while also helping others to “find their way back.” She has been featured in a variety of publications including a spread and video on “Life on the Line” in the March 2018 issue of Bon Appetit, in the New York Times article “How High-End Restaurants Have Failed Black Female Chefs,” and most recently as a guest on Episode 380 of the Cherry Bombe podcast Radio Cherry Bombe. @illnahna

We’ll start with the founding of the Kingdom of Rome in Latium, meet with Claudius and (one of our faves-Livia!), followed by the expansion of the Empire under Trajan, the demise of the Empire under Romulus Augustulus, and finish with the perseverance of the Eastern Empire at Byzantium. All while enjoying savory curated bites along the way!

On June 24, 2022 the Supreme Court took away the constitutional right to an abortion abandoning almost 50 years of judicial precedent and pathing the way forward for state implemented bans and restriction on abortions. Join with us today in support of reproductive healthcare and rights as we continue to fight for bodily autonomy. Proceeds from this event will benefit Planned Parenthood Southeastern Pennsylvania and their continued work to provide and increase access to abortion services.

Join us on Saturday, 6/22 from 12-4pm to support Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Pennsylvania and the fight for reproductive rights! Start with a ride at Revel Ride from 12pm-1pm, then head down South Street to Jet’s Wine Garden for a picnic-style cocktail cookout from 1pm-4pm, with a bonus Sisterly Love bake sale out front of Jet. The cookout will feature both all-beef and vegan hotdogs (complete with classic condiments of course) and a plethora of sides cooked by some of the best chefs in Philly’s hospitality community. Organized in part by Philly dining scene experts, the Godmother herself @sharonthompsonschill and prolific blogger & recipe creator @mackies_meals, 100% of proceeds from this event will be donated to Planned Parenthood SEPA.

Join us in our wine garden on Tuesday, 6/11 at 6.30pm to taste your way through a lineup of five Slovenian wines in the Vinum Imports portfolio, each with a paired food course, led by winemaker Matic Rodica. Learn about the country’s indigenous grapes, try authentic Slovenian food pairings, ask the winemaker himself questions about his processes, all while enjoying a beautiful night in the Jet Wine Garden. As always, all bottles will be available to-go after the tasting, so make sure to take home your favorites! Tickets are 68/pp and include five wines, five paired food courses, tax and gratuity. On June’s First Friday, 6/7, we will be welcoming resident South Street West and local Philly artist Meei Ling to the wine bar as a special guest for the evening to celebrate the opening of her summer art show at Jet! Come and meet the artist and enjoy a special menu featuring some of our best selling vegan snacks, HH beverages, and a special mocktail inspired by Meei Ling and her artwork.
